Sunday, January 31st, 2010

woooorrrrdddd…with the way music moves nowadays, you can’t afford to sleep…thanks everyone, for being patient…but just a quick update on everything…we’ve just wrapped up the Study Guide EP 10″ vinyl with Homegrown Blends, release date soon…we’re still figuring out the details on the release of 2nd half of Mellow Orange’s Last Resort compilation…and i’m just finishing compiling the track listing for my new album, Midway, which will be releasing in a couple months…plus on top of all that, i’m mixing and engineering a few things for work, as well as a couple projects, and producing for more artists and companies…but while working, i’m also watching Man vs. Wild on my “iPad Mini”…don’t sleep. wordage.

Grammy’s

Sunday, January 31st, 2010

i’m just looking through the Grammy nominees/winners…i don’t really care about the b.s., but just a big peace and love to all the indie and big artists on their nominations/wins…i won’t lie, there are some songs/albums that were nominated that were pretty close to garbage (of course)…RIP ODB…i’ll just watch the Pro Bowl…i love music and football, but to be honest, both are kinda boring…

miners.

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

last night i whipped out a bunch of records i haven’t listened to in ages…i forgot how many good songs i actually own, new and old…let me say this about digging…i feel there’s too much emphasis on digging or it’s become more of a trend, than an actual love of collecting or a love of music…like people buying rare grooves, without actually liking the artists, or just buying records because they’re “old”…i don’t buy records as much as i would like…and when i do, i buy records i enjoy listening to…i’m rarely out searching for rare records…i’m just picking up stuff i like, and i feel that’s the most important thing…also off-topic, but i just listened to that new Aziz Ansari standup, and ish is super hilarious…and Apple just came out with an iPod Touch for Shaq.
